The 30% Threshold
Many veterans are aware that the base VA pay charts are calculated for a “Single Veteran.” As soon as a veteran reaches a combined rating of 30% or higher based on the clinical evidence of their service-connected conditions, they may be eligible for additional compensation for:
- Spouse.
- Children under 18.
- Children 18-23 in school.
- Dependent parents.
Compensation and Family Support
For a veteran with a 100% rating, the inclusion of a spouse and two children can add over $400 a month to the benefit. This compensation is intended to support the family unit based on the impact of the veteran’s documented medical limitations. Our medical evaluations and nexus letters focus on providing the clinical evidence for the underlying disability ratings that make these benefits possible.
Dependency Status Updates
If a life event like marriage or the birth of a child occurs after a rating is established, veterans may update their records with the VA to ensure their household status is accurately reflected. While our services provide clinical documentation of symptoms, diagnoses, and functional limitations based on clinical judgment, we do not assist with the filing, preparation, or submission of VA forms.
We provide medical evaluations and nexus letters based solely on clinical judgment. Our services include documenting symptoms, diagnoses, and functional limitations. Fees are for medical services only and are not contingent on claim outcomes. We comply fully with California SB 694.
